Phenographies
Phénography — a contraction of “phenomenon” and “photography”. I created this term to describe a series inspired by Wuxing, where the positive and negative interactions between the five Chinese elements (Earth, Water, Wood, Metal, Fire) are considered the source of all phenomena in the universe.
Phénographies are a photographic series by Francis Teynier: dynamic compositions in which fragments of reality open onto imaginary worlds, crossed by unbound energies.
What first appears abstract soon reveals a recomposed reality: a subtle tension between perception, matter and imagination, between contemplation and vital energy.
This approach finds a natural echo in the series Mimesis, where the boundary between reality and fiction becomes even more fluid.
