I pile, you pile

Let it be for building, furniture, paper or heat, wood is among the most universal materials. Its exploitation, reasoned or wild, has reached an industrial scale in the whole world. Its transport and storage are familiar sights for any traveller.

The environmental dimension is indeed present because firewood releases when burning, the CO2 it had captured when growing. At the same time, it remains in many regions, essential for the life of families.

This series more modestly shows how, here and there, men have learnt how to harness storage of cut wood, big and small, and dedicated their fantasy in the way to do so. The beauty of a simple “pile of wood” has sometimes nothing to envy to many other artistic creations.
