Tribute to LANG JINGSHAN

Lang JingShan has been a pioneer in a few fields in photography, from nude to architecture or landscapes. His works reveal a subtle balance between figurative and abstraction, where what is known mixes somewhat ambiguously with more purely graphical traits.

Multifaceted artist, his international career never erased his deep links to the Chinese culture and artistic traditions. He early experimented the technique of superimposing pictures, which is as old as photography itself. In combination with other graphical techniques, he succeeded in creating astonishing landscapes, purely fictitious and whose beauty seems very actual to us.

The photos opposite attempt to pay a modest tribute to this great master
